Ephesians 4:2-3 states, “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” I came across this Bible verse and immediately thought of Taylor and Nate’s intimate, backyard wedding.

Taylor and Nate

Humility. It’s a hard virtue to encompass. But, being able to witness Taylor and Nate’s relationship grow and flourish this past year brought me to this one word. Humility. That’s how I would describe their relationship and marriage. I felt like in every action through their engagement and wedding planning, I was met with such grace and kindness. Both their actions and words spoke volumes of the love they shared for God, each other and their families. Literally, at their wedding, THEY were serving their family drinks. Taylor and Nate made it a point to serve others at THEIR wedding. Certainly, no one would have thought twice about them sitting and having others wait on them. It was their wedding day! But no, Taylor and Nate made it a point to serve their family. They were gracious and humble. To me, their actions spoke volumes.

Taylor was actually one of the first brides to book me for the 2020 wedding season. No one could predict a pandemic to start shortly after the year took off. Taylor and Nate faced the difficult decision whether to postpone, downsize or cancel. Finally, they decided on only immediate family. Their venue, bridal party, and reception would all be cancelled. All these “lost” things, did not taint the beauty of their union. In the intimacy of only their immediate family, they were able to share their vows. They sought to honor Christ throughout their whole ceremony. Them, humbling themselves to each other and before the Lord was a blessing to capture and witness.

Thank you, Taylor and Nate for allowing me to be part of your special day. I have loved this journey with both of you beautiful souls!
