I’m not sure how to begin sharing this amazing Crystal Mountain Resort wedding. Monicah and James created and hosted an amazing day at Crystal Mountain Resort. Their wedding was truly one of the most exciting and memorable day’s I’ll ever have as a wedding photographer. First, let me tell you a little more about Monicah and James.
Monicah and James
I remember falling in love with this couple from our first few interactions emailing back and forth about their wedding planning. Monicah had inquired with me to see if I was free on her wedding date, and when I asked how they met I remember getting back the best email! I loved the intention that Monicah placed when telling her and Jamie’s story. I know it probably gets tiring having to reach out to vendors and re explaining yourself over and over, but I never felt that from Monicah. There was always an excitement and joy to share their story. She shared about meeting online and going to brunch as one of their first dates and literally her email said “I mean, who doesn’t love brunch.” In my head reading her email I said, “Amen, girl. Psychos. That’s who doesn’t love brunch-pure crazy people don’t.” Brunch is my favorite meal of the day so I knew we were all meant to be together the moment I read that in her response!
The time getting to know these two has been an adventure! We hiked up Rattlesnake Ledge together and got to capture the most amazing engagement photos. I’ll always cherish that extra time I had getting to know both of them on our climb . One of the things I respect the most about Monicah and Jamie is the way they treat each other. The are respectful and kind to each other. They always took the time to run ideas past each other. I especially loved how they were both involved in the planning of this entire wedding. Monicah and Jamie are perfectly matched and make a wonderful team.
Wedding Day
Monicah told me that she wanted their wedding at Crystal Mountain Resort to be a whole experience for their friends and family visiting from out of town. As a vendor I was completely blown away and I’m sure each and every guest felt the same way. We started the day getting ready at the lodge. Then we walked over the hitch a ride in the gondola up to the top of the mountain. The ceremony was held with Mount Rainier boasting in the background. She was a little shy that day and only peeked out about half way. But, the views were still out of this world. I had no idea what to expect when I got to the top, and being able to experience them saying their vows in that setting was mind blowing.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour with the lovely couple. Monicah and James stayed back to take a few portraits as guests then traveled back down the gondola for the reception. I got to capture them practicing their first dance at the top of the mountain-absolutely incredible. Then, we all traveled back down and finished out the night partying away! Monicah and James, THANK YOU!! I will never ever forget our time together. You have been the very best to me. I’ll always treasure the gift you gave me of inviting me along for your love story.
