Have any of you ever been to Hurricane Ridge? It is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in Washington and the PERFECT spot for an adventurous elopement. I couldn’t wait for this beautiful shoot with Alex and Alex. For the whole week prior, I was imagining the rich hues of the sun-oranges and reds- creating the perfect backdrop around this beautiful union. And then-RAIN. I don’t even know why I thought the sun would lend itself to us that day. I mean, this is the PNW. What I was thinking!! Truthfully, I was bummed. I already had an idea of what I wanted and it wasn’t working out. The whole way up the mountain was dark, misty and rainy. But, once we made it to our location, I remembered this day wasn’t about ME. It was only about Alex and Alex. I wanted their time to be perfect, rain or shine. Once I reset mentally, I took on the task of creating magic with this truly amazing couple. I wouldn’t have changed one thing about our time together or the moments captured. We all had the best time! Alex and Alex were totally unconcerned about the weather and that allowed me to tell a story about what mattered the most that day-their love and connection. Oh, and we were blessed with the sun even peeking out for a few minutes!
1 Corinthians 13 states, “4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
