Steilacoom Bandstand Wedding // Paul and Luella

I’m so excited to share Paul and Luella’s wedding located at the beautiful Steilacoom Bandstand in Steilacoom, Washington. If you aren’t familiar with the Steilacoom Bandstand it’s the perfect Washington venue. It has views of the Puget Sound for miles and nestled right against on coast in Steilacoom, Washington. We ended up starting portraits at Fort Steilacoom Park just a few minutes away from the Steilacoom Bandstand. I kept checking the weather and thankfully, although cloudy, we didn’t have any rain! The clouds created wonderful lighting throughout portraits and the ceremony. After the ceremony we snapped some couple’s portraits on our walk up to Topside Bar for the reception.

Paul and Luella

This wedding hit a little different for me because Paul and Luella were not only my clients but close friends, too. My husband, David, was one of Paul’s groomsmen and when they asked me to capture their wedding, I was so excited to be present at their wedding not only as a friend but also their photographer. This truly meant the world to me. I’ve known Paul for almost ten years now. We actually graduated together from Cedarville University’s nursing program. I’ll be forever thankful for him being life of the party and keeping nursing class lighthearted and fun! Many of you know that my husband is in the military and that’s how Paul met David at Cedarville. Fast forward many years and we all ended up getting stationed together in Washington.

This day is sealed in my memory. I loved watching and witnessing Paul and Luella enter into the holiness of the marriage covenant- saying their vows before God, each other, family and friends. It’s so special to see friends step into the greatest gift and unbelievable joy called marriage. Thank you, Paul and Luella for choosing each other. Thank you for choosing me as your photographer. It was a blessing to be part of your special day.
